Ordering and shipping
Your shelf will be manufactured for you in our workshops after you place your order. It can take up to 60 business days before we can ship your shelf. Within Germany, our products usually arrive within 2-6 weeks of ordering. Shipping times to other countries vary. Please note that Sundays and public holidays are not considered business days. In exceptional cases (sales events, Christmas season, etc.), delivery may take a little longer; however, we are always working hard to process all orders quickly and smoothly.
Yes, as soon as your order has been shipped by us, you will receive an email from us with a tracking number and a tracking link.
By clicking on the tracking link, you can view the status of your order on the shipping provider's website.
Shipping within Germany is free. Shipping costs for your order vary depending on the delivery country and will be calculated at checkout.
Assembly & Disassembly
For best results during assembly, use our instructions and carefully review all the steps. Don't worry, the steps are repetitive, so the instructions are brief.
When assembling, make sure all parts are properly seated and pull all clips apart again after inserting them. All clips should protrude completely from the horizontal parts and be able to be pushed apart. Ensure you insert all parts straight to prevent them from becoming misaligned.
Should a part become jammed, try to reinsert it into its original position and try again. This is the only way to prevent damage to a clip or the guide tabs.
The best way to disassemble the shelf is the same way you assembled it, piece by piece. Start from the top. For the vertical pieces, simply squeeze the clip and slowly pull the piece out. Make sure you pull all the pieces out parallel to each other to prevent them from jamming.
Should a part become jammed, try to reinsert it into its original position and try again. This is the only way to prevent damage to a clip or the guide tabs.
It's best to assemble your shelf where it will ultimately stand. Depending on the size and type of shelf, you should get a second person to help you carry it. Shelves taller than 1.20 m should not be carried. Disassemble a few shelves if necessary. When carrying, make sure all parts are properly in place and all clips are released. If necessary, gently press them apart again.
The best way to handle the shelf is to hold it by the horizontal parts on the outside with one hand and support it slightly higher up with the other. If you're moving, you should disassemble your shelf.
Yes, it is important to secure your shelf to the wall in a way that prevents it from tipping over, just like any other shelf.
Each shelf includes anti-tip elements that are integrated into the assembly. You only need screws and, if necessary, wall plugs to attach the elements to the wall.
We advise against hanging ClipHut shelves on the wall, as they have not been tested for this purpose and we cannot guarantee their stability in this regard.
Materials & Production
Your shelf will be produced in a carpentry workshop in Germany, and the surfaces will be sanded and oiled by hand as a final step.
We source our engineered wood panels from Portugal. The wood is FSC & PEFC certified and therefore comes from sustainably managed forests and controlled sources.
The shelves are made exclusively from FSC and PEFC certified MDF (medium-density fiberboard) manufactured to European standards. This material is colored with organic pigments and produced in Portugal. The surface treatment is food-safe and environmentally friendly: 0% VOC. Therefore, our shelves are completely safe.
All shelves are treated with a food-safe and environmentally friendly wood oil (0% VOC).
Cleaning and repair
You can wipe your shelf with a slightly damp cloth. Make sure the cloth isn't too wet and wipe with a dry cloth if necessary.
Tip: Ceramics that have just been washed or come directly from the dishwasher are usually still slightly damp at the bottom edge (where there is no glaze) and only dry completely after a while. So, before putting dishes on your shelf, make sure everything is completely dry. This will prevent water spots on your shelf.
All shelf sets are treated with wax to prevent water stains and dirt. However, you should still act quickly if water stains or dirt appear. You can wipe up water stains with a dry cloth. For dirt, try wiping the stain with a damp cloth and then dry the area with a dry cloth. If you happen to miss a stain and can't get it out of the wood, you can simply replace it with another piece from your set and turn it over, or just ask us for a replacement part at hello@cliphut.org.
Should a large scratch or similar damage occur to the horizontal part of your shelf, in most cases you can simply replace it with another part from your shelf and turn it around. If this is no longer possible, you can simply contact us and ask for a replacement part: hello@cliphut.org.
